Tucker Robbins

James Tucker Robbins (a.k.a. "Tucker"): While I am proud to be the latest in a long line of "James" in our family, for the sake of originality I am going to go by "Tucker" for now. Tucker the boy, not the car, the guy with the bow tie on Fox or the player of the year candidate from Wisconsin. With Parents from Baltimore, I'm just happy I didn't wind up with something too cutsie (Skip, Scooter, etc.) and/or androgynous (Carey, Casey, etc.).

You Line'em up, I'll Knock'em Down

Today I had my first big round of shots - four of them, to be exact. Afterwards, I slept all afternoon and only when Mom and Dad were ready to go to bed did I finally wake up. Maybe I was hopped up on that baby tylenol, but all I wanted to do was chat. I flashed a few smiles, mustered a few coos and they were quickly under my control. I think we stayed up until 12:30 carrying on like that!

Bedtime Routine

Mom and Dad have started trying to get me accustomed to a bedtime routine. In theory I get a bath, then I eat, then they read me a book and then I go to sleep. It sounds good, right?

Unfortunately for them, once I lock these steel gray eyes on them, they are powerless to me. They may want to put me to bed, but half an hour later, they are still standing there just staring like putty in my hands.

173 Days to Midnight Madness

With nothing on TV except béisbol, hockey and the nearly unwatchable NBA, it is a loooooong offseason for college basketball fans. An offseason made especially long if your team bows out in the first round of the tournament.

Crash Pad

Here I am again with S.C. I'm not sure why he gave up that apartment in D.C., given how many nights he crashes at our place, but I don't mind because it means I get to see him more.

Hank's Oyster Bar

Since I was recently informed that I will not be making the trip to Jazz Fest this year, I wanted to give Hank's a try. It isn't Casamento's, but I suppose it will tide me over until I am big enough for my first trip to NOLA.

My First Easter

Here I am in my first Easter outfit. I'm hoping to grow into it sometime soon!

"Retirement"

A lot of people ask my S.C. what he is going to do with all of his time now that he is retired. This photo from Easter morning should give you a pretty good idea.

Neither wind, nor snow. . .

Nor throngs of tourists and obnoxious bus drivers could keep us from picnicking under the cherry blossoms for Dad's birthday.

I don't think that first photo will ever show up in the parenting Hall of Fame (no, really, hold me a little farther out over the water), but I love the one of me and Mom framed by the Jefferson Memorial.

Real Men Love Cheeses

Today I made my first trip to Cowgirl Creamery. I was totally impressed with their selection of cheeses from all over the World, even if the place smelled like my diaper pail. They have cow's milk cheeses, sheep's milk cheeses and goat's milk cheeses, but looked at me funny when I asked where the Mom's milk cheese section was. I can't wait to try the macaroni and cheese that Dad says he is going to make with this Sottocenere.

Coach K Face

If you spend enough time in Durham, basketball soaks into your DNA through osmosis. Just after we got back to DC, Dad caught me doing my best Coach K impression in my sleep.

95 - 85 - 15/501

Over the years, Mom and Dad have probably stopped at every single gas station between Durham and Baltimore. From the very clean bathrooms at the Exxon near Stonewall Jackson's shrine, to the gravity fed gas pumps and fried fish just past Petersburg, they have seen it all. What they hadn't done, was pause roadside to feed and change a baby. I'm glad I could help broaden their horizons.
