Tucker Robbins

James Tucker Robbins (a.k.a. "Tucker"): While I am proud to be the latest in a long line of "James" in our family, for the sake of originality I am going to go by "Tucker" for now. Tucker the boy, not the car, the guy with the bow tie on Fox or the player of the year candidate from Wisconsin. With Parents from Baltimore, I'm just happy I didn't wind up with something too cutsie (Skip, Scooter, etc.) and/or androgynous (Carey, Casey, etc.).

Fat and Happy

All that walking and eating eventually wore me out. Here I am using Mom's boppy as a "husband." I may turn out to have Mom's eyes, but I definitely have Dad's belly.

Car-o-lin-a Go to Hell!

Mom and Dad took me to Durham for the weekend to visit their friends John and Shea. In between playing with Mason and enjoying John's fantastic cooking, we snuck off to walk around Duke on Saturday afternoon. After a long walk through the gardens, Dad caught Mom and I posing in front of the Chapel.

Sir Tucker

I hadn't noticed it until Mom and Dad's friend Derek mentioned it, but don't I bear a striking resemblance to Winston Churchill? Dad says that if I keep it up, I can have all the polka dotted bow ties I want.

Just Jack

Wednesday afternoon, Maggie and Jack came over to hang out. We were just happily sucking our pacifiers until Mom whipped out the camera. Jack's never met a camera he didn't like.

Crunch Time

Here I am knocking out some crunches in my cradle. I know what you are thinking - why does a baby need ripped abs? The answer is that I don't, I just thought someone in this household should try working out for a change. Seriously, I don't think Mom and Dad even know where their running shoes are anymore.

Morphine Couch

Here are Mom and I dead to the World on Sunday afternoon. They don't call that the "morphine couch" for nothing!

Hat Rack

Remember that grungy black baseball cap Dad was wearing in all of the pictures from the hospital?

I think it makes me look irresistably cute.

Baby Bjorn

Saturday afternoon, the rain held off long enough for Murphy, Dad and I to get out of Mom's hair and take a walk around the neighborhood.

I don't mean to brag, but the three of us were quite a hit with the ladies. Even with Dad drressing like a Patagonia catalog castaway, we barely made it past the pedicure place at the end of the block.

Baby Cannoli

I mean seriously, Anne Geddes has nothing on Mom and Dad.

You Got a Problem?

Yeah, you - the one with the big yellow ears and the rattle tummy. Look at me like that again and I'll knock you into next feeding.

Learning to Sleep

When nobody was looking, my big brother, Murphy, taught me how to sleep on my back with all of my "paws" in the air.

Uncle Shane

It is almost as hard to get to hold me as it is to get in a word edgewise in this family. Eventually Uncle Shane got to hold me and I loved every minute of it. I went right to sleep on his A.U. sweatshirt. It is a good thing too, because I was fully prepared to throw a tantrum if he had been wearing that hunting orange Princeton one.

Lazy Sunday Mornings

After a late night on St. Patrick's Day, Mom and Dad were very quick to hand me off while they snuck off for a few more hours of sleep.

St. Patrick's Day

Here are Dad and I celebrating St. Patrick's Day. He was all worked up over the day's rugby fixtures. Apparently, despite Ireland beating Italy by over 20 points, they let up a late try that eventually allowed France to sneak by and claim the Six Nations Title. I don't really get it - and I'm still not sure that "try" can be a noun - but that green rugby shirt sure is soft. Aunt Maggie was so inspired by all the rugby talk that she showed Dad this great new way to hold me. I like that I get some pressure against my tummy and Dad likes that it means that he doesn't have to set down his Guinness to hold me.

Annapolis

Saturday I made my first trip to Annapolis. I was so excited that as soon as I got there, I had a diaper blow-out all over S.C. Poopsie used this as an excuse to give me a bath in the kitchen sink.

Grandma & Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa came down Friday night to babysit while Mom and Dad went to the theater. At the last minute Mom and Dad bailed and the five of us stayed in and watched college hoops together. This photo isn't my best work, but Grandma and Grandpa sure do look proud!

Lunch with S.C.

Today Mom and I convinced S.C. to sneak away from work and meet us for lunch. We went to Lauriol Plaza. I think it was my third meal there in seven days, but I don't even care because the margaritas really are that good.

Inflatable Ducky Bathtub

First things first - extra special thanks for the G-rated photo. Excellent use of Dad's arm to screen the camera.

After a long day of Mommy & Me and going to see Dad at work for lunch, I like to unwind in my inflatable rubber ducky bathtub. Now that my belly button has healed, I am free to frolic in the warm water and bubbles - no more of that sponge bath nonsense. The scalp massage from Mom was a nice touch, but I forget - do I have to tip her separately for that?

Errand Day

Tuesday Mom and I spent the day running errands with Aunt Maggie and Cousin Jack. To be honest, I could take it or leave it. Here I am sleeping through the day while Jack hams it up for the camera.

Big Brother

Hey, Murphy here. I'm still not sure what to make of this Tucker character, but I have figured out that as soon as he falls asleep, I can move in on Mom and Dad. What do you think of my pouty face?

Back to Work

Today was Dad's first day back at work and not a moment too soon - he was running Mom and me ragged. Poopsie, Aunt Maggie and Uncle Jack came over for lunch, but I slept through it.
When Dad came home, we took Murphy out for a long walk and afterwards I fell asleep right there on my Boppy.

Mr. Dreamy

Forget that nonsense you hear on Grey's Anatomy, I'm the really "dreamy" one these days.

Fish & Chips (& Milk)

At some point - and I'm not sure exactly when - "Paternity leave" became Dad's excuse to spend his days wining and dining with Mom and me. Anyway, today it got into the mid-60s, so we went to Old Town to stroll around. No sooner had we parked the car than Dad points to Eamonn's and demands lunch. Mom and Dad had a lovely bit of fish and chips and a pint o'the black stuff, but here I am with my rear end sticking out from under the "hooter hider" as I make a meager lunch of milk afterwards in the car.

SBUX

Today Mom, Dad and Murphy added me to their weekend morning routine of taking a stroll around the neighborhood and getting coffee at Starbucks. The rule of thumb from my Pediatrician is that I am supposed to wear, "one more layer than Mom and Dad." After much debate over whether I should have one more layer than Mom or one more layer than Dad, we compromised and put me in my adorable snail onesie and snail fleece one-piece suit.

Still Not a Fan of Bath Time

I don't know what exactly I have to do to get it through your thick heads, but I DO NOT like getting a bath. Maybe when my "stump" falls off and I can take a propper soak I may warm up to it, but this sponge bath nonsense is for the birds.

Hey, Dad, put down that camera and get me out of here. This lady is a terrorist.

Mother's Day

The whole time Mom was pregnant, she was a broken record of cravings she couldn't satisfy: sushi and red wine. Today we decided to celebrate Mother's Day a few months early by having sushi lunch at Kotobuki and then spending the afternoon tasting wine at Pearson's. Here I am snuggled into my sling at the tasting table. It was a big hit. Dad insisted on stuffing that bottle of wine in with me for a photo opportunity (N.B. it is only a 375 ml bottle - I haven't grown that much yet).

Poopin' Ain't Easy

Remember how much fun it was when Mom was pregnant and she would eat really spicy food and then everyone would laugh at how much I kicked around in her belly? Now I'm on the outside and that is so not cool anymore. I hate to make threats, but order thai food again and I guarantee you will not sleep.

Snow Day

While it was only a dusting of snow, Mom and Dad seized the opportunity to spend the entire day in front of the fire.

Murphy always takes the seat closest to the fire, but it is cute that he keeps a watchful eye over me wherever I am.

T-Unit

Here I am doing my best B-Rabbit impression.
Under that hoodie, I am now 8lbs, 10oz - up eleven ounces in a week. Barry Bonds shouldn't have messed with "the clear" - breast milk is the real deal.

B.D.C.

On Monday we braved the elements to enjoy a lazy late lunch at Bistrot du Coin. Ordinarily, we wouldn't have dreamed of going there with my young lungs, but then we remembered the recently enacted smoking ban.
Dad munched on moules frites and a glass of montrachet and Mom sank her teeth into a croque-monsieur and a bit of cabernet. I can't wait to sample the latter a few feedings from now.
Between you and me, I think Dad is taking a little too easily to this whole "ladies who lunch" gig.

Jack's 1st Birthday

Here I am all partied out after spending most of Sunday at Jack's birthday party. I think I look like a baby Santa Claus.

'Cribs'

Since inquiring minds want to know, here is a glimpse inside my crib. This is where the magic happens when I entertain all the beautiful babies. Sometimes it can get a little crazy in here - when the milk starts flowing and we crank up the white noise in the background.

I like to roll with a high thread count, a cool flow back sleeper and matching blanket and sleepsack. I know what you are thinking - that the dots are a little too "Roy Lichtenstein" - but I haven't had any complaints yet, if you know what I mean.

Bath Time

Mom and Dad kept mentioning "bath time" but were vague on when exactly that might happen. This is my reaction when Mom cheerily announced it was time and Dad stripped me down to my diaper.

In the end, it wasn't all that bad. Still, I can't shake the feeling that they are making fun of me here. . .

Morning Photo Shoot

With spring sunlight pouring through the windows, Mom and Dad couldn't resist the urge to shoot another half dozen photos of me.

I stayed pretty calm throughout, especially here where I am anxious to prove my 20.5 inch height to all the doubters out there.

At the end, enough was enough. Seriously Dad - get that thing any closer and I'm going to nurse off that lens cap!

Duke: Setting the Record Straight

I have gotten a lot of hate mail recently about my allegiance to Duke. Most of it comes from recently emboldened Maryland fans who are giddy at the prospects of not making a third consecutive NIT appearance. Publicly my Parents say I can do whatever I want, but between you and me, look at how they decorated my changing table. I get the sense I may be headed a little farther North.

Welcome to "The Pack"

If we weren't so cute, this probably would have landed us in some hot water. Mom told Dad to watch me while she showered. When she came back, she found all of her boys nestled on the couch. I'm just happy my big brother Murphy is finally showing some interest in me.
